Is Healthy Living a Fad?
These days, health trends rise higher than stocks. And in this day and age, most people hop on whatever is moving, you to stay afloat. Some critics are of the view that the whole "going healthy" thing is a scam, and just a means of profit for companies constantly pushing out products. Well, we cannot deny the fact that thousands of products are advertised constantly, all in the name of making our health journey easier, or even faster. However, we must not forgo our health goals just because we cannot keep up with these products. Remember, products come and go(or stay), but whether or not you're into them should not badly affect your healthy journey.
One fact that I like to point out is that achieving optimal health is a journey, not necessarily a destination. While fads may fade, healthy living isn't and must not be something we only pursue when summer is approaching and you wanna look your best, you experience a breakup or you finally can afford to splurge on the gym membership, ora meal kit. Healthy living transcends all these situations, and should be a lifelong commitment. You don't want to be in good shape this month and not the next, otherwise it's a dumb game, and you probably started for the wrong reason. Life happens and sometimes situations like grief, depression, illness or loss can take a huge toll on us that we hardly have an appetite for food, and most certainly have no desire for staying fit. Unfortunately that happens. But to abandon your journey in between months or years is just as good as not starting at all.
Healthy living transcends any diet trends be it keto, paleo, vegan, intermittent fasting, Atkins diet, Mediterranean diet, and so on. Remember, eating healthy is not a one-size fits all situation, and healthy living is definitely not. To one, daily cardio or weight lifting brings them closer to their goal, to another it might just be rows and ropes, or pilates. The fact that one celebrity mentions in an interview that pilates combined with a keto diet does not mean you should jump on it. You may wanna take a try at it, but you don't have to break the bank.
So this is what i suggest, that you meticuously dive into the different aspects of healthy living, including but not limited to relaxation, sleep patterns, exercise, diet, supplements, etc Find out what works or does not not work for you, lean into what works and go all in. Remember, healthy living is a journey, not a destination. Enjoy every bit of, reward yourself for the milestones you reach, pat yourself in the back when you fall off, and keep going. Your reward includes the sense of accomplishment, doing something for yourelf that nobody can take from you, longevity, youthfullness, vitality, prevention of diseases, healthy aging, to mention but a few. So go on and pursue your healthy living, I'm cheering for you!
